Did you know that energetically, your body is half-masculine, half-feminine? It is! Since you’re born as a particular gender, your hormones and socialization have caused your energy to move more into the masculine or feminine. Still, I think it’s nice to know that we are all set up for energetic balance. In this week’s video,…
Read MoreThe true spiritual journey is one of coming back to our innate wholeness. And in order to do that, we need to accept (even love!) and embody ALL of who we are. Energy cannot be suppressed. So the shadow parts that we have rejected are always trying to come back home to us. The good news is this: no matter how “negative” these parts of us might seem, they always have an energetic gift to give us when brought into our consciousness and expressed at a healthy, balanced way.
Read MoreThe #1 shadow quality here is “liar” because we all have ways that we bend the truth or tell “little white lies.” Interestingly, when you can actually lovingly embrace the liar in you, you become more honorable and impeccable because the dishonest part doesn’t have to act out to be noticed or accepted by you. It’s already consciously integrated. If this doesn’t seem to make sense, think of these parts of you — the ones that you’ve been taught to reject — as little children that need to be loved and seen and will act out if they feel resisted, rejected or unloved. That’s because that unconscious (child) part wants your attention/love/integration.
Read MoreIf we continually put others before ourselves, eventually we will get sick or break down in some way. It’s the Universe’s way of reminding us to love and take care of ourselves first. It’s why airlines ask parents to put the oxygen mask on themselves first. Because if they pass out, they can’t help their children or anyone else. You must be good to you to be able to be good to others. Period.
Read MoreThis week, we continue our series where we tap on the #1 shadow quality of each chakra so we can integrate more qualities and embrace more of who we really are. We’re at the second chakra now, the sacral orange energy center in the pelvic bowl that’s related to the Divine Feminine, relationships and intimacy, emotions, fertility, creativity and flow.
Read MoreDoing shadow integration work allows you to own back ALL of yourself so you can genuinely love yourself and others unconditionally — warts and all.
It also frees up lots of energy that you’re using to try and “not be” certain qualities. As Divine Energy, you are everything. If you accept that, then you can consciously choose what parts of you you want to express in each moment. Conversely, if you don’t accept all of you, then the rejected parts will have a subconscious life of their own and will sometimes control you — often at very inconvenient times (lol).
Since we are in the upper chakras on this one, the “negative” or “dark” shadow qualities that I am bringing out here are things that come from the lack of third eye energy. I point out the gift of each shadow quality right too. Embracing the gift of a shadow quality is just one of many ways you can begin to integrate that quality into your being for more health and wholeness.
Read MoreShadow integration is the realization that all our energy comes from one consciousness (the Divine) and we need it all to be whole. When we don’t integrate the shadow aspects of ourselves, they come out in subconscious (leaky) ways. When we understand that we are everything, we can act more consciously and accept all of ourselves and others. Shadow integration creates true peace both inwardly and outwardly.
Read MoreThe heart is the social chakra. But because taking care of yourself needs to precede taking care of others (if you want to properly take care of others), when the heart chakra focus of putting others first takes over our lives without the healthy solar plexus chakra interest in equally honoring ourselves, we can fall into some odd subconscious, shadow patterns.
Read MoreThe solar plexus chakra is the one that gets rejected the most because it’s the independent, “me” centered chakra. And it’s also the warrior chakra — the one that fights — so it can quite literally be a threat to others. It’s also the center of personal power. Without a strong solar plexus chakra, we live our lives as victims and believe that others have power over us, because when we can’t own our own solar plexus shadow qualities, we tend to project them onto others.
