The home of the Divine Feminine is the second chakra in the sacral area (pelvis). It’s the water element, which means it relates to the ocean and the moon, and all things that move, flow and pulsate. You see, the Divine Masculine is all about that which is sturdy, strong, and stable, while the Divine feminine is about everything that is moving, fluid, and mutable. The contrast of these two energies is what makes the world go around (and makes sex and romantic love so intoxicating).
Today, I’m going to share a poem I wrote about the Divine Feminine — and about fully embracing it. I’m dedicating it to all my Goddess Sisters, and to the growing group of men who are celebrating the feminine side of themselves — and supporting the openness of the women in their lives.
I feel the world is slowly moving from a mostly “masculine” paradigm, back to a more “feminine” one.
This means we are beginning to truly recognize the absolute importance of the feminine chakras – the hips (sensuality), heart (love) and third eye (intuition)– and are hopefully releasing our imbalanced allegiance to making money and gaining power — qualities that “live” in the “masculine” first and third chakras.
Along with this poem, I’d also like to share a Goddess-Oriented sacral healing exercise/meditation I filmed on the top of airport vortex in gorgeous, Sedona, AZ a while back. Doing it will help you experience the deep “She-ness” of this poem:
Here’s to the “power” of the moon, the ocean and all things sacral and feminine!
I AM SHE
(by Vicki Howie)
I am not linear
neither logic nor law
I cannot be measured
nor made right or wrong
I swim in a sea of flow
I soar in a soundless song
Fine and free
I know nothing
save what is true
in my womb;
my center-self; me
I am woman
I need not roar
my whisper is stronger than
a sea of masculine screams
my touch speaks wisely
it beckons distant dreams
I nurture because my heart heals
I trust because Gaia cradles me,
I love because I am love
in all its eternal entirety
I am soft in my strength
and strong in my creed
I am mother, teacher, sister, me.
I am round, beautiful, luscious
She.
