Most of us in spiritual circles already know we’re spirit embodied, and that we are whole and perfect. Still, we may not be experiencing it, and what good is it to be whole if we don’t feel whole?
In this article, I share some basic things that have helped me to remember my wholeness. The first five are covered on the video above, and then I just couldn’t resist adding one more that should have been in the video. It may be the most important one.
Here are 6 simple practices that will help you experience your innate wholeness:
(1)Do Chakra Balancing
Since our chakras (the 7 energy centers of our bodies) represent our entire energetic field from our densest vibrations to our most enlightened ones, chakra balancing is a great way to actually experience our whole Self. I have lots of great chakra balancing tips and meditations on my youtube channel that you can watch anytime. Heart-centering meditations (like ho’oponopono) naturally balance your chakras, because your heart is in your energetic center. When you go there, you tend to feel more balanced in all your chakras. You can also just create your own meditation. Simply feel into each chakra going upward and downward. The earthy red roots of your tailbone, the flowing orange creativity (and sexuality!) of your hips, the fiery yellow “can do” of your core, the airy green love of your air, the dynamic blue truth of your throat, the illuminated indigo of your third-eye, the bright one-ness of your crown – and then back down again.
(2) Celebrate and Focus on Trees
Trees can’t do anything but be whole, and they have a vertical energy field that is very similar to ours. If you feel into the way they spread their roots deep into the earth and also reach their branches up to the sky, you will feel your own wholeness by osmosis. This meditation will help you cultivate a natural connection with trees:
(3) Pursue Your Passions
The idea of “inspiration” is all about bringing in breath and spirit. When you do things that inspire you, you connect directly with your Higher Self, and when you connect with your Higher Self in such a purposeful and active way, you balance body and spirit, and can feel your innate wholeness. It’s that simple. So what inspires you and really revs you up?
(4) Follow the 50/50 Rule
The 50/50 Rule is a simple formula for taking care of yourself, and when you take care of yourself, you experience a greater sense of wholeness. The rule goes like this: whatever free time you have after your work, school, or other daily obligations, half of it goes to you , and half of it goes to all of the other people in your life combined. This may seem selfish, but it’s not. You can only genuinely give to others from your own overflowing cup, so you need to fill yourself up first in order to be generous with others. It’s like that airline rule that says you must first put the oxygen mask on yourself, even before your children, because only after you’ve taken care of yourself will you be able to safely help them. It’s really quite plain and simple: when we feel depleted, we can’t experience our innate wholeness, and we take good care of ourselves, we can.
(5) Spend an Equal Amount of Time Cultivating the Physical and Spiritual Aspects of Yourself
To take care of your body, make sure to eat healthy, sleep well and get enough exercise, and to take care of your spirit, make sure you have time for meditation, prayer, yoga or other spiritual endeavors. These two parts of ourselves can sometimes feel at odds — like they are splitting us apart. When you give them equal time, attention and value, you return to your sense of natural wholeness.
(6) Listen to Your Favorite Music
Perhaps the quickest and most consistent way to experience your innate wholeness is to listen to music you love. The vibration of music literally aligns us energetically. That’s why everybody loves music, because we can actually feel how it returns us to our true whole Self.
