Honor & Heal Your Relationship With Your Mother

It’s Mother’s Day here in the U.S., but Mother energy is revered everywhere on the globe, so I’d like to extend a Happy Mother’s day to you wherever you are.
Whether you’re taking time today to honor your mother or yourself as a mother — or both — I hope you make this a blessed day. I also want to suggest that you take a moment for healing. With so much energy being focused on mothering and the collective heart chakra, it’s a great day to create some wholeness around your relationship with your mother. The video I’ve posted above includes a simple, powerful meditation you can listen to.
There are two general ways you can approach mother healing.
The first way is the most obvious – work with your actual mother either in a literal sense or through meditations. I like meditative work because you an do it whether your mother is alive or has passed away.
One of my favorite meditative techniques is Ho‘Oponopono, a Hawaiian healing approach that revolves around saying these four powerful statements:
“I’m sorry.”
“Please forgive me.”
“Thank you.”
“I love you.”
The power of these statements cannot be overstated. In my work with my life coach clients, I find that these simple phrases are often the hardest ones for us to say, because they carry so much energy. But that’s why Ho’Oponopono is so powerful! Say these words and change your relationship with your mother – or anyone else with whom you want to have a more clear and whole connection.
Here’s a Ho’Oponopono meditation I created that I think works really well.

The other powerful way to do mother healing is to do Inner Mother/Inner Child meditative practices. Your Inner Mother is the part of you that developed from experiencing the way your mother or caregivers interacted with you when you were very young and impressionable. If you listen closely within, you may hear this part of you as a voice – one that is either supportive or critical depending on what was modeled for you when you were younger, or how much work inner work you’ve done.
Today, I created a meditation for you that will help you develop a strong, positive relationship between your inner child and inner mother. It’s in the video above. The more you listen (try daily before bed for a while), the stronger your Inner Child/Inner Mother relationship will be. And the cool thing is this: do this work regularly and you will see your relationship with your biological mother improve. It will also boost your self-love and help to make you feel more empowered in everything you do.
Have a lovely Mother’s Day!
Love and blessings,
Vicki
