Where’s Your Spiritual Home On Earth? Find It & Grow.

I’m writing to you right now from my favorite place on earth Sedona, Arizona. I always get filled with things I want to write to you when I come here, but then I also get filled with all sorts of desires — to hike all the awesome trails, climb through caves, dive into Oak Creek, visit all the amazing spiritual shops… you get the picture. There’s so many things I love to experience here that I’m torn between writing to you about the insights that seem to download the minute I hit the outskirts of this beautiful town, and keeping all my time to myself and my beloved Sedona activities.

At this moment, the download is winning, so let’s take advantage of it.

As I was driving here to Sedona, I could feel my excitement rising. Beautiful memories started running through my heart and mind reminding me that Sedona is my spiritual home here on earth. Now I know this area has lots of vortex energy, and that I’m not alone in resonating with it. I understand that Sedona and I do not have a monogamous relationship, that she has many lovers. But as far as I’m concerned, we share a special bond that feels extremely unique and personal, and that’s more than good enough for me.

What I’m getting to is this: I believe we all have a place or two on this planet with which we deeply resonate. We all have a spiritual home here on earth, a place where our deep personal growth is catalyzed and supported, a place that heals us.

I believe it’s essential that we all find and use our healing place. It’s one of our biggest healing tools and greatest physical gifts. And to find it, we need to follow our heart and gut. The rational mind that guides us through so many of our daily activities can’t help us find our spiritual home.  It’s an intuitive, inner process.

Here’s how I discovered my connection to Sedona. About five years ago, I read Elizabeth Gilbert’s book, “Eat, Pray, Love” and I began to wonder… Where is my Bali? A lot of my friends who had read the book were longing to got to Bali, and I will admit that Elizabeth’s book sure made it sound enticing. Still, her book was not about going to Bali, but about going where your heart calls you.

As I read the book, I kept getting insights and flashes guiding me toward Sedona, even though I’d never been here. I felt an inner nudge to go, and I also got external clues — a friend mentioning visiting Sedona, a magazine article about places where there were red rocks, a comment by a spiritual mentor. When we are living life fully, our inner and outer lives begin to unify and dance. The symbols outside of me and inside of me were all pointing to one place, Sedona.

Vicki Howie at Bell RockAbout a month after I finished the book, I couldn’t wait any longer. I got in my car and drove to Sedona. When I arrived, I couldn’t believe how beautiful and powerful it was. I was in awe of the gorgeous red-orange-yellowish (lower chakra) rock formations and the gentle warm glow my body felt in their presence.

My personal shifts began almost immediately. I became much clearer on who I was and what I wanted. When I returned home, my marriage that had already been ailing began unraveling, a process that was long overdue.

A few months later, I returned to Sedona to get a root tattoo, and the you-know-what really hit the fan. It was time to let the healing crisis begin. My marriage ended and my healing career began in earnest. I created my Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos. I learned how to do Sitha healing, a healing modality similar to reiki. I studied hypnotherapy and became a certified hypnotherapist. I created the Chakra Life Cycle System. All of it began in Sedona.

So where is your Sedona? Your Bali? What place gives you that undeniable spiritual kick-in-the-butt that gets stuff moving? If you don’t know what it is yet, then simply ask to be shown. Pray about it. Meditate on it. And listen very closely for any answers the universe may provide. They can be easy to miss as they often come in a package you don’t expect.

If there is a place you’ve been longing to go your whole life, chances are, it’s your spiritual home. So, what are you waiting for?

Hi Vicki I am not sure. I thought it was Denver. I just returned from a months stay in Denver and I missed the green trees and lush vegetation that Virginia offers. I know Virginia, at least here in Virginia Beach is not my destination.
I am having a hard time deciding but I will meditate further and stay open for answers. I just want to know now… Thanks for sharing your experience Vicki!

I have to let you know I share a very similar story. I had never been to Sedona, until June of this year. Something inside of me kept bringing me to look at pictures of Sedona. I am returning next month and have now completed applications to do travel work so I will be giving up everything. I am absolutely terrified. I have no outside support. My feet feel as if I am walking in quicksand. But…

This is the first time I ever posted a reply.

(But unless I somehow missed it, I don’t think you mentioned it…) Thanks also for the link to astro.com. I’ll check into that. And I’ll further explore your ideas here. What a wonderful explorational journey this life is! Much love and many blessings, Dear One, Vicki

    Hi Kimberly,
Just the fact that you’re asking means it’s coming. You’re on the cusp. Stay open, hon. Let it be like a game, where everything is a clue or token leading you home. Thanks so much for sharing! Much Love and Many Blessings, Vicki

    Hi Jill,
Bravo for following your instinct to go to Sedona, and for applying for travel work and for posting your first reply ever!! You are stepping fully into life and creating genuine new beginnings. As you draw up your courage and follow your heart’s calling, you balance the masculine (3rd chakra) and feminine (4th chakra) energies in your center self and experience genuine integration. Yeahhhhh! Still, change tends to create a little wobble (or a big seismic shake) at first. I recommend you wear the Chakra Boosters First Chakra Tattoo — http://www.chakraboosters.com/about-our-healing-tattoos — all the time as you move through this transitionary period (for super grounding, put one on the top of each thigh and one on the lowest part of your back/top of buttocks. It will help you feel more safe and stable during all the change. So glad you’re a Sedona Sister! Much Love and Many Blessings, Vicki

    Hi Joan,
I am so happy you found your spiritual home at 9. As a “late bloomer,” I have so much awe and appreciation for people like you who have had the ability to call in such spiritual serendipity at such a young age. Thanks for bringing your lovely soul to this planet (and for taking the time to share). Please give the eagles, ravens and hawks my deepest respect and acknowledgement the next time you sit under their soaring wings. Much love and many blessings, Vicki

My spiritual home on Earth is Oahu, HI. I’ve been there only once and it was transformational. I never felt more alive than while I was visiting Oahu. I could not wait to wake up and take in the day and see all the sights. I felt a sense of peace and it filled my soul with joy.

Thanks so much for sharing. Hawaii is such a paradise. Did you know that some people say that the chain of islands is a representation of the chakras? Oahu is the 5th chakra. Here’s a link to a fabulous pdf about it, written by healer, Emma Mitchell, who actually lives in Oahu. Enjoy! http://healingforthehealerssoul.com/wp-content/themes/thesis_185/custom/images/AHighVibrationalJourneyThroughtheHawaiianIslands.pdf

Hi Vicki — What a wonderful video! At this stage in my life, I’m here with Art in this lovely community, and I’m Home. I’ve lived in a lot of places, and some that I’ve really loved. But for the first time I feel I’m in a place where I belong. It hasn’t been true of every place in my life, but there are certain places that have really called to me. (And also – The first time I walked into Yoga Blend – the old studio during their Grand Opening week – I also thought, “I’m Home”.) At this point in my life, I feel that my true North – my spiritual home – is with Art, wherever that may be. Thank you for sharing that. I lived in New Mexico for a year and it was truly “The Land Of Enchantment” for me – it’s a gorgeous part of the country. I’ve never been to Sedona, but it looks wonderful – and you look very happy! I’m so glad.

Ah, yes, lovely 5th chakra Crete in the midst of the blue Mediterranean with the blue shutters on all the white houses and the bright blue sky. I found that the people really speak their truth there (so don’t ask if you don’t want to hear it). LOL. Thanks for sharing. Love and blessings, Vicki

Hi Julieta, perhaps Alishaa will see your comment and comment again. I love astrology, but don’t know a whole lot about it — like reading charts and such. I do believe there are quite a few people online who do that sort of thing for an affordable price. If you find out what your special place is astrologically, please share. Big hug back, Vicki
