In this video, we’re healing your three year-old solar plexus inner child. This is the part of you that wants to be seen and feel special. It’s also the aspect of you that loves to take charge, “go for it,” and be empowered and autonomous.
Your solar plexus chakra is the opposite of your sacral chakra. Where the sacral chakra likes to let go and just flow, the solar plexus likes to take charge and take control. The sacral chakra can get lost in the other (and lose the self), while the solar plexus can lost in the self (and feel disconnected from others).
Your solar plexus chakra is your middle masculine chakra. It’s yellow and it’s the fire element. This is your warrior energy. It motivates you and gets you moving. It’s also the energy that lights up your analytical brain and allows you to be clear and decisive. The solar plexus chakra is about action, courage, confidence and decision-making. It’s also connected to your stomach and your other digestive organs: the liver, kidneys, pancreas and spleen. When it’s open and strong, you take care of yourself, know who you are and appreciate your uniqueness.
Read MoreIt’s not surprising that the money lens here is power. And more specifically, it’s about how you manage your money. Do you over-grasp and try to control every aspect of your financial life? Or do you procrastinate and avoid financial decisions so that you’re not able to manage your money in a responsible and balanced way?
Read MoreThere are many goddesses that heal your solar plexus chakra, but in this vlog post, I’m going to focus on three of my favorite ones. Read MoreWe all have three masculine chakras (1, 3, 5), three feminine chakras (2, 4, 6), and one unified chakra (the crown). Because of this, energetically, we’re born quite balanced. But hormones and socialization quickly train us to be dominant in one type of energy over another. Usually, we end up stronger in the energy that corresponds to our gender.
Read MoreThe irony about chakra work is that when a particular chakra is weak, you usually NEED that chakra’s energy to open that chakra. It’s a Catch 22 — like when you need a resume to get a job, but you need a job (or jobs) to create a resume. This principle seems particularly true for the solar plexus chakra, because you need to take courageous action to boost the solar plexus chakra, but you really need solar plexus energy to be brave enough to take that action.
Read MoreFrom very early on, we learn to adapt to get our most basic needs met. This includes our need for food, warmth, diaper changing, physical touch and more. Then, as we age, we seek approval, attention, appreciation and the like. All this adapting causes us to close down parts of ourselves of which we believe others don’t approve. In this week’s video, we work with gain back the power of our lower chakras by giving unconditional love and support to our inner child within.
Read MoreSometimes, when we fall in love, we put so much focus on our beloved that we forget about ourselves. That’s okay for a day or a week, but it’s not sustainable. Because if we don’t care for and love ourselves, then we can’t show up fully for anyone else either. And we don’t have a full self to offer to our beloved either. That’s why sometimes after we’ve had a break up, we will put a “shield” around our heart. Because we think if we allow ourselves to “fall” in love, we’re going to be taken advantage of. But the problem with putting up shields is they don’t really spare us from anything and they definitely block any new love from coming in.
Read MoreIf we continually put others before ourselves, eventually we will get sick or break down in some way. It’s the Universe’s way of reminding us to love and take care of ourselves first. It’s why airlines ask parents to put the oxygen mask on themselves first. Because if they pass out, they can’t help their children or anyone else. You must be good to you to be able to be good to others. Period.
