When the moon enters Gemini, we become aware of the duality within. The ways we try to control our freedom, the way we try to organize our thoughts. Gemini is fast — dare I say the swiftest of all twelve signs? Ruled by Mercury, she is like quick silver. She can make the mind race with opposing thoughts, she might over schedule, over socialize and overwhelm the earthier signs. She is a social butterfly, a spring hummingbird, eager to soak up everyone and everything she can. This is the sign of the shift from spring to summer. This is the cycle common to travel, parties and shaking up our seemingly boring regular lives in the desire for something different. Gemini gets bored fast. When she is bored, she gets dangerous: she makes up stories, gossips, lives in fantasy. Unlike her air siblings, Aquarius, the higher mind, or Libra the aligned mind, Gemini is the mutable thought process. She can get us out of mental trouble or push us deeper into it.

Read MoreThis entire month, the climax of spring, is ruled by Taurus. The sun entered the Earth Goddess vibe a few weeks ago, and on Friday May 8th, the moon joins in. Taurus is a fixed sign, because she holds the power of the current season. She is deep earth, like ancient tree roots, and her worship is one of the senses. She is the reason for mantras like, “stop and smell the roses,” and Taurus asks us to pause in the busy-ness between spring and summer to enjoy the delights that abound. Wildness is on my mind, it is stirring in my soul and my body, and is eager to play. After all, it is Beltane, and I have always associated this ritual with naked pagans running around the fire, making love in the grass, laughing and singing. This does occur at many a Beltane gathering, and may it continue every year! But the truth is, wildness is not always what we think it is.
Read MoreThursday’s full moon is considered “lunar Beltane” by those that celebrate the wheel of the year. Beltane is the mid point between spring equinox and summer solstice. It is a juicy, fertile, delicious moment. It is also ripe for revelation, became we are so open to receive. Just because it is Scorpio does not mean what is revealed has to “bad.” Scorpio can just as easily show us how to better live in truth or how to step into our power. We might be surprised how much we repress our hopes, as well as our fears.

Read MoreAquarius is ruled by Uranus, the great “Liberator,” and works pretty diligently to keep freedom in the forefront. Uninterested in the mundane desires of a single individual, Aquarius aligns us with the higher mind, the collective consciousness, scribbling out the easy way and asking you to think outside the box. Aquarius practices detachment like an art, holding no expectations and leaving the to the divine will of the universe. Aquarius is concerned with the all, and wants us all to be, too. Uranus, often seen as the “Tower” card in tarot (The theme card for 2016 for the We’Moon collective), is happy to destroy anything not serving our highest good, and usually with the speed of lightning which is one of her planetary symbols.
Read MoreLeo, for me, holds the energy of our center star. She reminds us that the sun is always shining, even if we can’t see or feel it. She represents the sustainable quality of life and light, ever resilient, ever hopeful, ever powerful. Even on the darkest, coldest nights, or in our most fearful, grieving moments, there is light. It might be the stars above, the moon waxing or waning. It might be the light of a friend’s smile or a loved one’s eyes. It is in the flicker of life force still forcing breath and blood in and out in your sacred body. It can be found in the subtle signs of nature slowly making her way to spring.

I’m a military kid, so home is a funny concept for a me, and I know many others who struggle with the idea. What is a home? What makes one? Is it love? Is it a mortgage? Is it the people? Especially in a time where we hear more and more about refugees fleeing their “homes,” and animals losing their natural habitats to disaster and global warming, it can be a word that brings grief, fear or anger.
