This sacral chakra video in the second in my series on animals that help you boost each chakra. If you want to know which animals boost and heal your root chakra, watch this video.
Animals are a great way to tap into the potential energies within us. When we’re little, we all love animals, because we intuitively understand this. And we all want to be as strong as an ox, as fast as greyhound and as free as a bird, right?
Dreaming of animals, seeing images of them and of course, interacting with them when possible, are all ways that you can be enriched by them.
This week I’m sharing the animals that support your sacral chakra, which is the home of your divine feminine energy. It’s located in your pelvis and is related to the element of water. The sacral chakra is, in many ways, the opposite of the root chakra. It’s associated with play, ease and flow, as well as fertility, creativity, emotional range and joy.
In the yogic world that emerged alongside the Hindu religion, the animal that is associated with the sacral chakra is the crocodile.
It makes sense on a logical level, since the crocodile lives in the water, but energetically to me, it is way off. The crocodile is predatory and masculine, while the sacral chakra is playful and feminine. This just goes to show that animals — and spirit animal guides — are a personal thing.
Still, there are clear qualities for each chakra, so I’m going to share with you the animals I think most resonate with the sacral chakra. These ones will give you a good place to start if you’re looking for animal guides that can help you boost and your sacral chakra. But if a totally different animal shows up for you in a sacral meditation, trust that it’s your sacral animal.
There’s some logic to this process, but it’s energy and feeling, rather than logic, that rules.
Personally, I believe that it’s best to call up pairs of animals when doing sacral chakra work, because sacral energy is all about intimate 1-to-1 relationships.
Good Sacral Chakra Boosting Animals:
- Crocodile – traditional Hindu sacral chakra animal, lives in water
- Otters – playful, relational and flexible.
- Frog – lives in water, changes easily, well-known symbol of fertility
- Fish (especially Koi) – lives in water and swims in schools (so there’s empathic energy as they move in unison)
- Dolphins – playful, relational water animal (also very good for 3rd eye chakra)
- Monkeys – playful, relational, apparently emotional
- Water Eel or Water Snake – lives in water and is very flexible and flowing, represents the unconscious which is related to the sacral chakra.
This is not an exhaustive list, so please feel free to add any animals that feel watery, playful, fertile and/or relational to this list if you’d like. When it comes to chakra animals, there is no right or wrong. We are just exploring, and this list is meant to be an inspirational starting point for you to feel into the animals that seem right for you.
If you have a sacral animal you love, call it in regularly this week — either figuratively or literally — and tap into it’s sacral-like energy.
Also, keep an eye out for any animals that just pop into your life and ask yourself, “What chakra does this animal feel like to me?” It’s a fun way to do some ad-hoc chakra work, because animals put us directly in touch with different energies.
Enjoy and I’ll see you next week!
