Cancer reminds us to be where we are and to love it. Cancer encourages us to come home. I’m a military kid, so home is a funny concept for a me, and I know many others who struggle with the idea. What is a home? What makes one? Is it love? Is it a mortgage? Is it the people? Especially in a time where we hear more and more about refugees fleeing their “homes,” and animals losing their natural habitats to disaster and global warming, it can be a word that brings grief, fear or anger.
